About Climate Politique

In order to address climate change, and develop plausible solutions, you must go beyond simply analyzing the climate science. There are engineering, political, and societal constraints that restrict what types of solutions are possible as well as the amount of time we have to implement said solutions. However, I have found through my personal research that most models (specifically integrated assessment models or IAM’s) don’t adequately integrate these constraints into their analysis, and because of this lawmakers are advocating for policies that won’t stop the onset of dangerous climate change.

Here at the Climate Politique I will explore the political and societal factors driving the climate crisis as well as clarify the consequences of inaction. In the process, I will attempt to explain why we are in this current state of affairs and offer up solutions that we can implement as a nation, as well as communities and individuals, to mitigate climate change. Through this effort, I hope to build a community of like-minded people to discuss these issues with and ultimately to fight alongside to facilitate real change.

Developing that understanding is the driving mission for the Climate Politique.
